What do you think he is?

    I got some turkeys in a trade and was told they were Narragasetts. I think the hens are, but after a little reading and looking at pictures I thing our Tom is a cross. What do ya'll think? And any guesses as to what? He was just finishing molt when this was took, he's better looking now.

    I'm not the best at this.....but I have a bunch of different breeds of turkeys...and he looks like he has some royal pa in him with all that white leakage.....

    Thanks for the guesses and the link. Porters is an interesting place to look. Makes me want to order poults though.

    Thank you, Celie, he is a sweetie, too. He delicately picks food out of my hand, and follows me around like a puppy.

    He is a royal palm/black spanish. The cross produces some beautiful birds

    Turkeys imprint on people and are very personable ! All 27 of my Holland Whites do that, but with 27, it's more like a stampede! LOL[​IMG]

    This Tom and one hen from the trade, are supper friendly, but all eight of my turkeys follow me. What I find funny is whistling at them from across the yard, and have them start running toward me.Half of them usually start flying, and wind up going over my head. [​IMG] It's funny and sort of scary too.
