What do you think of my Serama Boy?

Well thanks for this , you see I’ve only ever bred old English buff Orpington’s- lovely!! And quail so I thought I’d change it up a bit for the 2026 season and try some seramas- originally o wanted sebrights but it was one or the other!! So it’s mainly a trial, if I enjoy them- which I very much do. Il consider scaling up like I did with the buffs

ATM he’s in with two ladies one identical to him (head in photo) and then a frizzle which I’ve attached at the bottom. Not sure what the offspring colours will be like with her but looking forward to straight and frizzled!! Let me know what you think of her

I hope to get two more ladies for him in the breeding season, let me know what colours you think, and il update here when he’s matured a little more. View attachment 4249337
Both have come onto lay- are looking a bit anaemic due to a sudden change in weather which caused them to moult very quickly without a proper reserve of fats and nutrients-
Though their looking a lot better now. ( not great pics again 😂!!)View attachment 4249339View attachment 4249341

They’re so cute!
I do think the frizzle is a little bit better structure wise, but I love the upside down U (that the tail feathers are supposed to have on the females) the other girl’s tail feathers make. If only she held that tail better.
I see green legs on the frizzle. I think that’s a DQ in the US standard. I don’t believe it is for the European standard, but I have no knowledge of the UK, which is what interests you most, I assume.
Side note here: the serama standards in most parts of the western world are very similar, so it’s not like a US serama expert can’t judge a European line serama (or in our case a European serama lover a UK serama :p ).
I wouldn’t worry too much, though. Just select birds from her that don’t have it
