I looked it up since I've never heard of it. Seems to be fairly harmless as far as livestock goes. My only doubt is that it's 'made in China'.......never quite confident about the safety of the Chinese products, esp. foodstuffs and agricultural products. I can't find any credible reason not to use it tho'.........keep us posted! [IMG]

If you need to buy weed killer, that only means 1 thing...you don't got enough chickens! ;)
I wouldn't trust it because because there's always some kind of hazardous, contaminated or useless crap coming from China, whether it's sheetrock, seafood, baby toys or cheap home & shop products.

I wouldn't trust any product that is supposed to kill weeds, unless that product was a livestock animal! Especially with it coming from China. There are always reports of products being contaminated, or not being as advertised. The risks are too great. Why do you need it at all if you are planning to have chickens. They are excellent weed and feeders.

I have chickens. But four for a 1/2 acre lot don't get all of the weeds. This stuff doesn't kill weeds per say, it prevents seeds from germinating using corn gluten. I've done some further research and apparently corn gluten is used in livestock feed. I may try and find a brand that is american made however because I'm like you. I don't trust China too much.

Here is one site I found...... I also would not feed anything from China for the above stated and other reasons... You might just try chicken meal feed for weed control..... seems to be pretty much the same as CGM..... I have used CGM in my garden and I scratch it in under the surface 1-2".... It seems to work...
