Ok so I got two welsh harlequin ducklings from rural king over a month ago. Now that they are bigger I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the gender of them. I've never had ducks before and all the stuff I read online contradicts each other. If anyone can I help I would be very grateful!! 20180726_091915.jpg 20180726_091828.jpg 20180726_091916.jpg 20180726_091816.jpg 20180726_091824.jpg 20180726_091914.jpg 20180726_091829.jpg 20180726_091832.jpg 20180726_091915.jpg hi 20180726_091915.jpg 20180726_091828.jpg 20180726_091916.jpg 20180726_091816.jpg 20180726_091824.jpg 20180726_091914.jpg 20180726_091829.jpg 20180726_091832.jpg 20180726_091833.jpg 20180726_091918(0).jpg 20180726_091849.jpg 20180726_091920.jpg 20180726_091915.jpg

The one that is a WH looks to be a hen. The black one ain't WH, it is a Black Swedish and I'm not sure what it is

    Welsh harlequins are so beautiful!
The black one isn’t welsh harlequin, but she is beautiful too!

Ah, I'm no expert on ducks, my brother used to raise them that's were I get my info from. Just wait it out, someone who knows will come along

Holy cow, I had to scroll for like a half hour to get to the bottom of the page.

The light one appears as though it will be female.

The dark one is not a Harlequin.. and agree it appears to be a black Swedish male... starting to get some nice green on his head.

As they grow the female will remain a loud quack and the male voice will become more of a soft raspiness. Eventually he will get a cute little curl on his tail. :)

How early (if you know) do ducks get their two curly “drake feathers”? Because I don’t see any on the black one.

Please note that water is not deep enough to dip their heads and clear their nostrils... do you have another for them?

RK and others are KNOWN for having breed and gender mix ups.

How awesome looks like you got a pair! A female welsh (I'd say silver phase because of the grey head) and a male black swedish (because of the nice green on his head). They will make cute baby mut ducks if you let them.
