What gender? Blue English Orpingtons

  1. As a total newbie I am having a devil of a time figuring out the gender of my 8 English Orpingtons.

They are 14 weeks old. I will start with 3 I think I know on.

First is (Aldus) Dumbledor -- Obviously I think "he" is a roo and all of my cluckers are named after Harry Potter characters.

Dumbledore looks like a cockerel to me.

  3. Next up to bat is Serius (Black) I also think "he's" a roo.

    Cockerel.

    (nice names, by the way!)

  5. And last for today - I have to convince the others to not run into the coop at the sight of the camera! [IMG].

I have named "her" Molly (Weasley). Hope I'm right!

  6. My fear is that 4 out of 8 may be roos. If so - I'll have several to re-home in East Central Alabama.

Both Dumbledore and Sirious Black look like males to me, too. Molly looks like a possible rooster too. But, Orpingtons can be hard to sex, so my guesses may not be accurate.
