Looks like probable hen to me, but what is the age of this bird?
almost 4 months old
I'm thinking it's going to be a hen then. Mind you, I am NO SILKIE expert, they fool me more often than not lol!
oh I Hope so! I love her so much I'd hate to have to rehome her! I can't have cockerels where I live. I'm praying for a pullet!
I think you are safe! Pretty one you've got there
thank you! I only want a small flock of four and I've already gone through two cockerels trying to get my four girls. this little buff is the last one I have a question about! I've totally fallen in love with it and having to rehome it would crush me! I've had to rehome a blue, and a black already and it's really hard to do emotionally. I'm hoping my luck had changed for the better with this buff. sexing sometimes is really difficult. especially with silkies. I'm just praying I get to keep this buff. I can't have cockerels where I live. this buff is so sweet, falling asleep in my lap, sitting on my arm, it's really precious to Me. I just pray I don't wake up to crowing again! the last silkie really had me fooled until it crowed. but it's head was not as round as the buff, also it had waddles and a bigger comb. but it was non bearded. I guess I'm just rooster paranoid now. this is the only bad thing about silkies. they are such trickier buggers to sex. I just really pray this one is a female! it had really stole my heart! I'd hate to have to give it up! I've already gone through that twice! I sure don't want to do it a third time! thank you all for your opinions ! I'm sure hoping for a female!
look like a pullet so far
