I put my 5 three week old chicks in their temporary outdoor pen this morning. It is attached to the chicken run so that everyone can get used to each other before they join the big chickens in a week or two. I go out for a few hours and when I came back they were gone! I eventually recovered three, they were under the coop, but two are unaccounted for. Did a hawk get them? Will they come back? I can't find them anywhere. What do you think happened to them? They are hiding from you wedged in somewhere behind, underneath, in a place you thought they couldn't fit. Get back out there with a flashlight! (and get on your belly to look) Good Luck!

Update-- I found one! I had given up searching and figured that something got them. Tonight I get home, go in the yard, and there he is, huddled and miserable. he's dragging a wing but otherwise seems OK. The DH is getting gauze for me so that I can tape up the wing. The last chick is still unaccounted for. I don't know how it got hurt. Any advice on hurt wings?
