What happens if an egg freezes?

    The title says it all. What happens if your not home to collect eggs and they freeze? Are the automatically bad?

    No, not "bad" but the shell cracks, compromising the interior to bacteria. Safe to make boiled eggs, very hot, very hard. That's about it.

    soft frozen I haven't noticed a difference. If they're frozen and split, I toss 'em out or eat them same day.

    So glad I never have to worry about frozen eggs. But sometimes in the summer before I put an AC unit in the coop, I used to worry about gathering "cooked" eggs when it was 115 outside.

    I cook any cracked eggs and feed them back to the chickens.

    Usually if they're not cracked, it doesn't hurt...but if you know they froze, i'd use them first, and not give them away or store em
