Little did I know my Silkie was as sneaky as he is... Now I've got a bunch of baby chicks with fluffy butts! LOL!

Here's our newest game - try to guess who the mom and who the dad is for our 8 baby chicks...
There are 3 all white ones, 2 that look like Red Stars with fluffy curly tail feathers, 2 that look like RIRs except one has fluffy curly tail feathers, and one white with black markings.

The possible moms are
Two Rhode Island Reds, Moop (or Henrietta, not pictured):

a Buff Orpington(?), Lucky

a Black Sexlink(?), Goldie:

a Black Australorp, Siris:

and a Red Star, Jinx:

The possible dads are
Top Dog (unidentified "production red"):

Whitey (unidentified white rooster):

or Suzuki, our sneaky Silkie Roo:

I'm guessing the RIRs and Red Star laid the eggs for the ones that look like them, and maybe Goldie was the mom of the black and white one. Anyone know what colors are dominant and what are recessive to come up with 3 all white ones? The Red Star and the White Rooster maybe?

Anyways - It's all in fun. Not gonna run out and get a DNA testing kit any time soon! Feel free to add your guesses!

Wow very funny looking! Keep us updated as to what they look like as they get older!! PLEASE!

Thanks, Julie! That's the first thing I looked for - feathered feet and an extra toe... LOL! Looks like Whitey might just be the winner! And since our Roo to Hen ratio is so high, it's good news that Top Dog has a new home as of this weekend... A good friend just contacted me today! She lost her Rooster last week, and is looking for one for her RIR girls. I think Top Dog will be a great addition to her flock!
