What have you successfully grown in zone 6?!

Each yard has microclimates. I have a couple spots that can support plants that usually do not grow in my zone. Check ground temps in several areas to see how warm they stay. Wind will also affect what you can grow, since wind can dehydrate a plant, even a deciduous one, over winter.

Usually, you can get a bit more creative near your house foundation (which keeps the ground warmer), or on a south-facing area, if it's not too windy.

I have grown zone 7 camellias successfully in my zone 6. I also grew a fig that was off by one zone. Strangely, I also somehow managed to keep some snapdragons and a couple other annuals going over winter some years. Those were all in microclimates throughout my yard.
