What, if anything, does tail waggling mean?

    Does it mean anything when chickens waggle their tale feathers? Do they serve any purpose other then flight control and ornamentation?

    mine do it after Ive been holding them like they are re fluffing their feathers where they are supposed to be. thats the only thing Ive noticed about tail wagging
