    I found the cheapest place is Tractor Supply....40 pounds is about $14.

    Any place that sells wild bird food will have it but it is generally cheaper at regular feed stores. And, before you ask, yes it can be fed in the shell and will not harm the birds as long as they have access to grit--either stuff you feed or by picking it up outside.​

    Super! I'm going to try to pick some up tomorrow. My egg production is WAAAYYY down, and I'm hoping a protein boost will help!

    Feed it with the shell still on?

    I guess it's no different than melon seeds or some of the zuchinni seeds they ate this summer.
    It just seems like BOSS with shells is so hard and dry.

    I know mine love the stuff with no shells.

    So do all the birds at the backyard feeder. And no mess to clean up in the spring.
