What is it?

A neighbor found this rooster in a German shepherd's mouth and rescued him. Neighbor assumed it was mine and put it in my coop while I was away on vacation. He was wrong, it's not mine, but he's been there almost 2 weeks and my existing roo (twice his size)

didn't kill him, so I guess he is staying. Anyone know what breed he may be?

Yes, he appears to be full size. He is larger than my hens (RIR, BO, Barred Rock, etc.) but my other rooster (also a rescue) appears to be Buff Orpington, but he is HUGE!

Curious about the answers! His color reminds me of a Sicilian Buttercup rooster, but his comb and legs don't. I'm a rank beginner at chicken identification, though, and there are a vast number of breeds out there - I'm not even sure what that kind of comb would be called.

I just assumed his comb was deformed and was not looking at that as a breed trait. I too, however, am a beginner. I have only had chickens for just over a year. I did a lot of googling and comparing, and the one that most closely looks like him, featherwise, is the New Hampshire Red. Could he be that?
