    Bought this "rooster" at a flea market a couple of months ago. They told me what it was, but I forgot as soon as I walked off. [​IMG]

    Looks like a Buckeye to me. Buckeyes have a pea comb.

    And that's not a "rooster," that's a ROOSTER!

    Yes you have a Buckeye ROOSTER, you lucky dog. I'm looking into getting Buckeyes for my flock so I've been talking to a lot of breeders and reading up on them.

    They are very vocal roosters and make a lot of different sounds some sounding like a dino roar. They are good natured and should treat the ladies in your flock well while keeping them safe.

    They are excellent foragers and good dual purpose birds. The roosters put on nice amount of weight for table.

    Get a some Buckeye hens to keep him company! I keep hearing that once you get a few, you want more!
