My rooster was rehomed to me because he did not get along with the other rooster at the previous home.

My chickens were rescues also, but the guy who sold them to me didn't know exactly what they were. He said he thought RIR sex links. Well, one of my sweet girls got broody and this is what their chickies look like. Any thoughts on what my boy or my girl is? It's not super important, I would just like to know. My chickens are extremely hardy, take the Florida heat well, and completely free range, and we get an egg a day from all of them. [IMG]

A friend suggested that both my hens and my roo could be New Hampshire Reds? I googled pictures and my chickens are identical to that.

They could also be Production RIRs. They tend to have similar coloring to New Hampshires.

The hen is a red sexlink. Production Reds and New Hampshires will not have that white through the tail and wing feathers like she has.
The rooster is probably a hatchery Rhode Island Red.
