Okay, I got two of these hens at a 4h show and have no idea what they are. I am thinking they are production reds but I am probably wrong. They were sexed pullets from a hatchery. She is the one on the right, not the banny. Thanks:)

I bought them thinking they were RIRs, but then they told me they were brown stars. I have never even heard of that. I know they are not Red Stars so I guess they were confused. They lay like crazy though.

Brown Stars is one of the many names for Sex Link hens. . . If they were, they'd have either a lot of black on them or a lot of white on them. [IMG]

Quote:To a lot of people, dare I say to most people, we see a red hen and we think its a RIR, but to the experts and to now us that we know the different breeds that'd be a production red, but I like to call them RIR's just cuz thats how I bought them from the hatchery even if they are not. lol
