What is the best way to determine the sex of my chics

I have two Buffs and two Road Island Reds I really only want one rooster in the bunch. I've looked on line about this and still having difficulties with knowing the sex of them. Any help would be great thanks

The best and most obvious ways to sex include: watching for large and red combs and wattles. (Boy indicators.) Pointy or round saddle feathers, thick legs and behavior. (Males are more ambitious and bold.)

Welcome to BYC! You've been given some good tips and links by Mountain Peeps and Kelsie2290. Sexing chicks and young chickens is always a challenge. Even commercial hatcheries with professionals who sex chicks for a living usually guarantee only 90% accuracy with pullet orders. That's the beauty of the Sex Link chickens; they can be sexed by color at hatching. Good luck with your flock.
