[IMG]The little Gray is the man is question. My wife picked him up at the farm store. She can't pass up a cute baby chicken. We like him and think he is a beauty but we would like to get two girls for him because he is the same size as our Mille Fleur's as you can see by the photo. He has nice penciling in the breast feathers.

Now this young man was one we volunteered to take on after the local grade school watched chicks hatch out, and needed a home for the results. We couldn't say no. We just don't know what he is. He looks kinda like an Aracauna but not quite, he does have blue legs and the colors are right just not in the right places. We would appreciate any help identifying these two breeds. Thanks Dave and Shannon

The barred one is a mix breed. Araucanas tend to be rump-less in the USA and can have ear tufts, but always have a pea comb. Your top rooster is blue in color and the penciling is called lacing, which is what is wanted in most blue colored birds, he looks like a old english game to me but I aint to good with the bantams [IMG]

looks like a blue Old English Game Bantam (OEGB)

the other is a barred mix, likely a black sexlink rooster.

Ideal poultry has several kinds of bantams, esp the OEGB. OEGB roosters are dubbed for show, meaning the comb an wattles are cut off, that maybe what your talking about when you say they look different. Most of the pictures you will see are of the dubbed birds.

Haha, with a tail held up like a flag? He's a little Japanese Bantam, and proud of it. Blue Japanese Bantam to be exact.

I think the first one is a Japanese bantam or n old English game bantam. The other looks like an ameraucana cross as its rumpless :)
