This may seem strange but it is difficult to find pictures of giant chickens. There is limited info on a 23lb chicken from the 1971 called big snow a "white sully", but no pictures of him or any white sullys. Seems the breed died out.

If these no longer exist then what is currently the largest breed of chicken? brahmas maybe?

Anyways if you have some sizable chooks PLEASE could you post pics of them?
Maybe we could have a BYC mini contest?

    Thanks [IMG]

Thanks for that link. It did not mention how big the jersey giants get. Does anyone know? , also how big to Brahmas get?
I can't help thinking that the picture of the rabbit has been photoshopped, its head looks way too big fro its body. A 2.2lb guinea-pig is impressive though.

Wow I had no idea that Jersey Giants got that big. Is 17lbs as big as they get? Also I understand that they are very gentle unlike the Sullys which were apparently real mean (bred from RIR stock). Love the colors on your boy!

If you do a search on the really big rabbits, you'll see they are very real. It's just a strange angle on that pic. Jersey giants are as a rule, supposed to be gentle. But, every chicken is different and you might come across a nasty one.

The largest APA recognized breed is the jersey giant, larger breeds do exist but are not recognized by the APA (i believe saipan jungle fowl roosters get 15+ lbs which is about the same as a large jersey giant)
