What is the longest you have waited for eggs?

    Just wondering how long it can possibly take a chicken to start laying. What is the latest # of weeks and with what type of chicken? So far, from reading the BYC, 34 is the longest.. I am at 30 with my Jersey Giants. Anyone?

    3 months. We dont know the girls ages either

    Usually 5-7 months as I look at my little chicks and think, boy, you guys better lay me some eggs.

    Well, I am taking the advice of another on the board and posting chicken and dumplings recipe in their coop.

    My bantam cochin pullet is 35 weeks old not one egg yet. [​IMG]

    My EE pullet started in late Sept and quit mid October. [​IMG]

    I will be looking into better winter producers @ the feed store come spring. Thinking either BO or RIR's.... [​IMG]

    well im at soon to be 37 weeks ... and i talk with them all the time about it they dont care ... my silkie hens a yr old or over and still notta ...
