What is the rooster to hen ratio?

Hello. what is a good number of roosters to have to hens? I have read somewhere that about 1 rooster to 25 hens? Any ideas would be great!

I have always heard 1 roo to 10 hens...

Usually its about 1 roo to 10 to 12 hens.

Depends what your lookin for, if wanting to just have a roo, to have one, and to try to look out for the ladies, 1 with the flock would be good, but if wanting to ensure good fertility, 1-10 is as high as I would go, otherwise the 1 roo will pick favorites, and you will have a bunch of infertile eggs.

I'm trying to breed from my flock. I have 11 hens, a chick and 1 roo. A chick is due to hatch in 2 weeks (will be unrelated from my flock) and I'm hoping it will be a girl!!

So I hear, but no-one nearby sells chicks, so I'm gonna have to sort something out pretty quickly!
