What is this on my roosters head?

Hello everyone,

I was doing my routine inspection of my chickens and noticed something odd on my roosters head. Can anyone explain what's going on here and what is the best treatment for this. Also my daughters are always touching our chickens is this something they should stay away from.

He has had his feathers pulled out by other chickens. This happens frequently with polish chickens and other crested birds. If you can separate him for a day, put some plain triple antibiotic on his head. Then when you asd him back spray BluKote on his head every other day until the feathers frow back in. It may take several weeks.
