Hi, Can anyone tell me what kind of Ameraucana I have? Is she a Blue Wheaton, Blue or (unrecognized) Lavender?[IMG]

Where did you get her from? I'm guessing she's probably an Easter Egger, meaning she is an unrecognized variety.

I got her from our local big r store. The others in the same pen were more yellow and grey and one had the marking of a silver. Aside from the silver this one had the greyest head.

You have the Easter egger colored type [IMG].

It's not a pure Ameraucana, no matter what the feed store and hatchery say. the only way to get a pure bred bird is from pure bred parents, both the same color variety. Just doesn't happen from hatcheries.

How pretty! I"m sure seeing some really nice colored EE from the hatcheries this year.....makes me want to break my vow of not buying hatchery EE chicks [IMG]

What makes this chick an EE and not a blue wheaten?
