What kind of barred hen is this?

    My friend has a barred bird. For a long time she assumed that it was a Barred Rock. This hen is over a year old and lays white eggs. She's a bully (kind of like my BR hens!) I went to visit yesterday and took these pics. Her wattles are much bigger than my BR hens, and her dark color is more of a dark brown instead of a black. Do you think she's a BR crossed with something else? We're curious to see what the BYC experts think!

    She is a leghorn, maybe an Exchequer and Barred rock cross?

    Possibly a barred Holland. I think they lay white eggs.

    Barred Hollands have red earlobes.This hen is California Grey or Production Black (Tipes of production Leghorns)

    concurr.Earlobes gives the clue needed.Her earlobes are white.consistent of a leghorn.

    White earlobes, white eggs, her size and her comb and wattles say Barred Leghorn.[​IMG]

    Looks like a leghorn to me... but it could just be a barnyard special.
