I have two of these chickens and I can't remember the name of the breed. They started out as chick's black and yellow. They have some feathers that have a green looking shine to them. I want to say the sign at store started with an A but I am not sure. Can anyone help me identify these. They are a 4h project of my kids and need the name.

    I'll be in the barn!
I think you have to post so many times to get pictures to show, but

I'm not sure then... Might be a forum issue... I sometimes can't upload pictures too...

Maybe just don't know how to find out what kind of chicken I have without picture. I think it might be an americana but not sure.

Well, we can't be sure without pictures, but your description does sound like they could be Australorps. This is what the chicks look like, and the adult hens' feathers are black but (luminescent?) reflect a greenish color.
