I was graciously gifts some chicken and this one is particularly interesting.
She seems to have a waddle like red cap covering her whole head and going down her neck...any ideas about what breed she is?

I dont think she is simple molting as the red covers her head like a cap...I dont think I have seen this in molting before? Am I wrong?

Most definitely is not a Turken.

I would simply say a Red Star Sexlink, with torn out neck feathers.

Definitely not a turken. I would say a RSL.

Quote:Yeah she looks to be a sex-link hen with some feathers missing for either molting or fighting.

The red that you see on her head is normal coloring in fact the red runs way down the neck on most roos, as this is one of the unique looks on a Turken(Naked Neck) breed.
