I have been planning on getting some chicks for about 5 months now. I went to tractor supply yesterday and bought 6 babies. I took 2 and my next store neighbor took 4. they are rock pullets from what the man said at the store. but what is a rock? they are yellow and still the cute fluffy looking things. but what is a rock? I don't think they are barred rocks or Plymouth rocks. is there such thing as a white rock? please help!

Probably White Plymouth Rocks. "Rock" is just short for "Plymouth Rock," and they come in all sorts of colors. If you got them from TSC, the Plymouth Rocks colors they carry are Barred and White.

I looked up the buff rocks and I like those. But white works to... Lol my moms gonna be upset she thinks the white chickens are ugly. I think she'll change her mind after the eggs. :)

    I have had white rocks.

    They are a fine chicken.

They lay nice BIG eggs and the chickens get FAT.

Very good dual purpose bird. The roos are pretty

I have a Buff Rock! Best rooster in the flock. They are really hard to find though, I won him in a raffle at a poultry convention. I have been looking for a girlfriend Buff Rock for him ever since, but can't seem to find one. I'm sure White Rocks are great too!
