What kind of dishwasher do you have?

I've got to buy a new one in the next couple of days and every model that I look at, the reviews STINK! I'd like to keep it at $500 or less, and I want a black one, not stainless. Our old Whirlpool caught on fire, but I'm not opposed to going with Whirlpool again, as long as it cleans and doesn't break down. So, what do you have and are you happy with it?

Well I am 5'4 and weigh too much, but I do a pretty dish.

If I don't buy a dishwasher, what am I going to put in the big space designed for it? My trashcan wouldn't fill this space...
