Godiva is a female duck that frequents a pond near my house. Can anybody tell me what kind of duck she is?

From what I understand from people who have lived in the area longer than I have is she is at least 5 years old and had five ducklings this year. She nested in a pot on someone's patio and overhatched her eggs...meaning a friend had to lift her off her nest because the ducklings were struggling to get out. He found three dead in the nest. He thinks Godiva is going senile because she didn't know when to get off her nest.

The two duckling that I saw: one had mallard coloring and the other is white with brown spots just like her.

The white duckling survived and she's very pushy with her. She always telling her where to go and what to do.

Maybe the details will be helpful???

She kind of looks Runnerish, I love her coloring. does she stand upright and is she slim? most likely she is a mix.

You guys are AWESOME!!!! No kidding. I never thought I'd figure out who she is.

She lives in various ponds in Buffalo Grove, Illinois and is the pride of the Wheatlands Condo complex. Believe me, she is pampered. When she decides to visit the complex she is always greeted with all the cracked corn she can eat.

The little duck with her is her only surviving daughter: Pixie.

    THANK YOU ALL!
