What kind of goose is this? Male or female?

My friend just bought a house in N. Michigan and this goose showed up last week. No one in the surrounding area has lost a goose. It's currently hanging out under her deck and was given a much appreciated bucket of water.

I can't see the goose too well, but it may be a young African goose.

Thank you, she has no idea what to do about this goose it's just hanging out.Here's a cropped photo to maybe see it better.

There is a small chance of a Toulouse, but the dark brown stripe is an indication of an African. If there is a small brown/black growth above the beak, it is definitely an African.
