Hi guys! Here is my newest girl. She hasn't laid any eggs yet but I'm told they will be light tan and average sized eggs. Any thoughts on what she could be?[IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

They're rare, but I'll have to agree, Blue Sumatra.

Sumatras will actually produce small white eggs. They're pretty poor layers, though.

Yep, that's a Blue Sumatra. I've raised Sumatras for over 12 years mostly blacks and some blues. Actually they are a very good layer but they go broody so often its hard to keep them laying. They will lay a small/medium egg and vary from white to light tan colored. They are extremely good broodys and great mothers. If is let mine set they hatch near 100% every time.

Really? So my 50-egg-per-year Summie hen is just special? What luck.
