Hi everyone! My Muscovy, Miracle, is almost grown up now! And I wanted to know what kind of Muscovy she is. She used to have white plumage on her belly, but when her adult feathers grew in she got brown feathers. She still has white spots though.

Here she is as a baby with her white plumage

Here she is, as an adult. I thought she was a chocolate Muscovy but they are more redish Brown. Can they be this cool brown?

Here is my black pied drake, he also has white feathers on his chest. I got him by breeding a pure white drake with a pure black hen. He is mostly black with some white on the chest, head, and angle wing. Maybe yours is a pure chocolate bred with a pure white? I'm not a muscovy expert but that's my guess :idunno

From my limited understanding of muscovy genetics, I think she's a ripple Sepia pied Muscovy. As Kessel pointed out, if you breed a white and a solid together, the ducklings inherit one white gene, which makes spots. As I understand Sepia, it's a darkener gene that affects the skin. The reason I'm thinking sepia (rather than bronze or chocolate) is because she has darker feet.

I only dabble in muscovy genetics and am so far from an expert that it's laughable, but you can check the internet and see what she matches best.

Thanks! She was a rescue so we have no clue what her mamma or daddy were.
