A lady was moving and gave me her birds. I'm new to having chickens and still learning breeds. Any help with what these guys/gals are (as far as breed, I know they're chickens haha) I guess we'll call them bird 1, bird 2, etc. as they're identified. Thanks for the help!

Hello and welcome to BYC! I could guess, but those are not birds I have had before. I do recognize the silkies or silkie crosses in the background. They look like a great flock to start on, how lucky you were to get them. Let us know if you have any questions or need any help.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah she gave me her coop and 20 very sweet birds. Very excited to raise them.

One thing I noticed, though. That chicken wire or poultry wire is not going to keep predators from getting through it. Chicken wire is for keeping chickens in, not for keeping coons out. You need to make sure your coop is predator proof.

The first one looks like a Speckled Sussex pullet to me. Maybe 20 weeks old.

The first chicken is a Speckled Sussex and your 3rd appears to be a Barred Rock and Silver Laced Wyandotte. I am not as familiar with #2 and #5 but they look like bantams. Welcome to BYC.

    Welcome and what a gift!

Agreed on #1 being a Speckled Sussex and the 2 in #3 being a Plymouth Barred Rock and Silver Laced Wyandotte. #2 looks like a Mille de Fleur and the 2 in the foreground of #4 look like Wyandotte mixes to me with silkies/mixes in the background.

Not sure about the rooster in the last photo though.
