I disagree wit the above posts. Light Brown Leghorns have black breasts and no squirrel tail. I think you have yourself a mutt.
Quote:True of show-quality birds. Nothing says he's not a pet/hatchery quality Leghorn. He could certainly be a mix, but he does look like a Leghorn type.
I am not sure of the dimensions of your kennel, but he is kind of looking like a bantam. I agree that he looks mixed.
Mutt. Not a pure bred Leghorn though. He's handsome.
Did someone put him in the kennel? Guess somebody didn't want their rooster anymore
Looks like a bantam? I don't think leghorn either, he's too thick and fluffy. Can you get a better picture in the morning or with a good light?
Quote:He's pretty big. I don't think bantam. I'm not sure if someone put him in there. I came home and saw him there. I asked everyone but no one did it.
I thought the door swung shut..? I released him in my yard. I'm sure he'll come back later
Oh, He also has a black chest with brown spots..
Looks like maybe some game(the white feathering on his tail and its set) and maybe Welsummer mix?????
