What lubrication should I use ?

    I have been using vaseline but someone told me that this is the wrong lube to use as it damages the feathers.
    He recommended that I should use KY as this will wash off with water afterwards.

    I assume this is for pasty butt. Since the chicks just have their fuzz, the issue isn't earth shaking one way or the other. Second, the issue is usually brief, limited to the first few days following shipping stress and not wide spread, there isn't a whole lot of time to be concerned.

    Don't stress over it. Enjoy your chicks.

    Thanks for putting my mind at rest.
    So you think I should forget the lube and just proceed dry.

    I want them to grow up to be good layers.
