Im curious about what color eggs they may lay and the feathers they have on their feet. I was told they were barnyard mix :) They should be between 4-5 months. I adopted them about 2 weeks ago.[IMG]

Really, nothing's jumping out. Common feather legged breeds are Cochin, Faverolles, Silkie, Marans....of course that's not all inclusive. But the red bird doesn't look like she has any of those in her recent ancestry, except maybe Cochin, but she's got a way wrong body type for that.

The black and white hen has yellow skin, so that makes me think barred Rock ancestry.

They'll both be brown egg layers, the red bird may lay a light tan. If she's got some game blood, she may make a good broody momma, also.

Thank you. Here are some more pictures. The red one has longish feathers on the neck. I have one more question as well. The red one, her tail is usually facing down while the barred ones tail is up and proud. Is this a hierarchy thing or a breed thing?[IMG]

The different tail set can be a breed thing. The term "game" can be pretty generic, but some of the strains seem to have a lower tailset, with a more level body type.
