I have two Barbu d'Anvers, both five weeks old today. I don't have experience of sexing chicks with their kind of combs (rose combs) so if anyone does, I would appreciate your opinions. Also this breed apparently doesn't have wattles so their sex isn't indicated through wattle development.

Photos 1-4 = chick one, Humbug
Photos 5-8 = chick two, Mushroom

I have my suspicions but I'm not sure about them. Any guesses?

That was my suspicion but I was wondering if it is too soon to tell with the second one. If they were both cockerels should they both be showing redness on the combs by now?

They look like both cockerels but definitely the barred one is a cockerel. Our pullets took forever to develop.
