What sex is my 6(ish) week Japanese Bantam?

We were given this sweet little thing about two weeks ago. Im hoping it’s a she but after looking at pictures and posts on here I’m a bit worried. This is our first chicken and was really wanting a female. I don’t think we will be able to keep it if it’s a male because of our neighbors and my 18 month old and the chick are quite attached and from what I understand males aren’t very friendly or snuggly once they get older. Please correct me if I’m wrong because all of us will be upset (single mom or four who thought she had a great idea, haha) if we have to find it a new home.

It really depends on the bird. Due to the size of this breed I would not worry about aggressiveness.

Okay that’s good to know. I just know my toddler will be very bummed when he stops letting her carry him around. LOL

Im hoping maybe he will be tame because of how he’s being raised…?
