I think this chick is a cockerel but several people have told me they think its a pullet. Your opinions?

Buff Orpington x Easter Egger, born Sept 1st, came from an olive egg. More white than buff, but has muffs (no beard).

Esshhh.....I"m mostly thinking pullet, but that standing pic throws me. Maybe it's the Orp blood, but the bird just looks heavier and more male in that pic. But the comb, etc say female......fingers crossed for a pullet.

I hatched 6 chicks from different friends eggs. This chick towers over the others (2 Barnevelder x, 2 Lavender Orpington x, 1 Spitzhauben x). Its comb is more developed and pink, but its also the only one with a single comb. I'm hoping for pullet, but if so it looks like a pullet on steroids :)

So everyone seems to think pullet. Here 'she' is towering over the other chicks (different parents) in her hatch: L to R - Appenzeller Spitzhauben x Japanese bantam; 2 Barnevelder x EE; Lavender Orpington frizzle x Barnevelder; (mother hen far right)

My fingers were crossed for a pullet, but a month later I am starting to see those tell-tale pointed hackle and saddle feathers. And he's still getting taller. Too bad as he's a nice looking bird but I will have to re-home him.

Here's what the chick looks like today - sorry for the bad photo, its raining. Opinions as to whether it is a pullet or cockerel? I say, cockerel, but I'd love to be proved wrong.[IMG]

Yep, looks like a roo! Had the same thing happen to me, looked kinda like a pullet at first, then at around 6 mo old started crowing.
