Thanks, yeah this one is unique! I can't wait to see how it turns out. I was really hoping for a partridge but wasn't sure how that could be. I think its little toe was just curled under. This is my 3rd natural hatching. I just love silkies! They're truly something!Huh.. I hatched hundreds but not one like that.
To my best knowledge and experience... I will say it is a blue splash chick and ONE (or both) of the "black" parents is actually dark blue. Silkies are the hardest to tell blue from black in some lines.
Is the toe just not showing in your hatchling pic? Or has it got a missing or bent toe?
Beyond that... my GUESS would be hatching anomaly and it's either simply a black or blue chick that looked different.
It’s actually a blue partridge, not splash. Chipmunk stripes as a baby give away it is a type of partridge and it has obvious blue genetics.
Where did the eggs come from? Thanks, yeah this one is unique! I can't wait to see how it turns out. I was really hoping for a partridge but wasn't sure how that could be. I think its little toe was just curled under. This is my 3rd natural hatching. I just love silkies! They're truly something!
I wondered but haven't seen those yet.Thinking its a grey.
