Hello, I'm looking to start keeping chickens, but I have quite a small backyard. I only want two or three hens but wouldn't want to do it if it would be cruel. I was wondering if anyone could advise me on what the minimum amount of land I would need would be for a couple of chickens?

if your chickens are going to be in a coop all the time you need at least 4 sq ft per chicken and if you are going to let them free range they need at least 2 sq ft in the coop and 6-10 sq ft in the yard...more room is always better though

Hi, thank you all so much for your help. I'm looking forward to posting more questions in the future, and maybe learning enough to help others in the future! :)
