What sort of quail are these?

    Ive just purchased some hatching eggs off ebay and the lady says they are from germany.
    and there called red cap quail.. lol
    they look grousey x coturnix looking.

    They Are Not A Know Old World Or New World Quail Species...

    Are They Clean Legged Or Feather Legged?

    One more vote for "haven't a clue" but they are sure lovely.

    Whatever they are, if they breed true, I'd sure like to have some.

    I tried google and the closest I saw that came up was a grouse. Mostly Gamble came up.

    I'm really curious about these and hope someone knows more about them.

    yeah they are nice looking birds and they are clean legged. ive just recently been told they are called red cap quail and from germany and the bloke from germany bought them from another bloke from Bulgaria.. I have to see what there like when hatching. [​IMG]
