What the Devil??

    Found this coming out of the ground in my garden? DH thinks it looks like a long horn.

    Some kind of fungus? Mushroom?

    I believe this is a type of Stinkhorn. Get rid of it quick! The will start to smell and attract hundreds of flies. You will have to dig deep to get all of it out of the ground. Watch for a week, they will multiply quickly. Used to get them in the flower beds in front of house and they were nothing but trouble. [​IMG]

    I think it is the devil, dont hang around long enough for the rest of him to come up out of the ground.

    [​IMG] It is the fruiting body of the stinkhorn fungus. Beat on it all you want with a shovel, it'll just 'bloom' again next time the conditions are right.
