What the heck? Blue Egg

First let me say I have NO new hens. All of my girls will be about a year old in March. To this point I have gotten brown eggs, speckled eggs, cream eggs, and white eggs.

Yesterday I went to collect eggs and I had a blue/green egg! What the heck? I have one EE hen and one EE Rooster. How is it after almost a year I have a blue/green egg?!

Could it be possible the EE hen just started laying? I know it takes them longer to lay and a year wouldn't be no surprise.

Hmm...there was somebody on here posting about her easter egger who only layed about two eggs a year. Maybe there's a similar situation here? Or maybe she's just a really late layer.

No I ave 12 hens, so this may very well be her first egg? I assumed she was laying brown eggs........guess not. How fun!
