Okay, so, a few weeks ago we harbored some dogs that we found roaming the neighborhood. We only did so because there were no pounds open at the time and we did not want the mutts to kill our chickens. Well, as it turns out, the owners are in the process of moving and were housing them with some friends. They claimed their dogs and left.

Weeks later, and the dogs are back! Now it's really getting annoying! We would take them to the no-kill shelter in Owasso, but we live in Collonsville, and for that reason, the no-kill shelter won't take them. We don't want to take them to the Collonsville Shelter because it's a kill shelter and we don't want them to get put down if their time is up and their woners don't claim them.

Now, this has become really annoying: The entire family is sick of harboring these nuisances; as I speak the dogs are howling in the pen. S.S.S isn't an option, and these stupid owners are really stupid.

What can we say to them to get them to "wake up"? They are just so stupid!

Sounds like you need to impose on a friend or a dog friendly acquaintence who does live in Owasso to intercede on your behalf... the no kill shelter obviously will take these dogs from an Owasso resident, so make that happen, then notify the owners that if these dogs show up again they will disappear. If the owners really don't care the dogs are better off with new homes - courtesy of trhe no-kill, and if they care enough to reclaim and still let them roam, they should disappear.

I never thought of that. Thanks, we will certainly consider that. Right now, we have a listing from them on craigslist. It got the owner's attention last time.

If they have to pay to get them out of the shelter, it greatly lessens the chance that they will get loose again.
