I'm picking up my chicks on Friday or Saturday and was wondering what I should bring them home in. I'm getting 11 (maybe 12), so would an appropriate sized box do? I will be travelling for about 35-40 minutes. Should I have the heat turned up in my truck?

So happy to be a part of this forum. You guys have been a valuable part of my chicken training.

Cardboard box. They'll be fine at whatever temperature you're comfortable for the ride. For that short a ride, I wouldn't worry about airholes, etc as I'm pretty sure whoever will be holding the box will be looking in on them frequently [IMG]

I'd be more worried about how to secure the box so little "Chili dog" doesn't let them loose mid-trip! LOL!

She's eight (the picture was from 2-3 years ago) and pretty responsible.
