Hi everyone, my hubby and I processed two of our roos on Sunday and saved just about everything but the feathers and unedible guts yuck hahaha I make stock ,blood meal and bone meal and am wondering...ia there anything I can do with the feathers? Can they be composted? We have 25 red rangers coming the first week of September so I wanna be prepared and have some ideas for when we process them. Thanks
This isn't a bad idea at all! Just make sure the winds blowing towards your neighbors lawn. Alternativly, some fly fishing shops might take them, but they mostly only buy when they are attatched to the pelt. It's worth a shot though. Fly fisherman make their own flys using the feathers.
