I am currently incubating eggs from White Rock hens crossed with a large Black Jersey Giant roo. Does anyone know what I can expect? I'm hoping for a fast growing large meat-worthy bird

I believe white rocks are based on recessive white, when mated to an Extended black bird like the BJG you should expect to hatch all black chicks, and mostly black adult birds with some color leakage, I dont think the WR breed is the fastest growere out there so dont expect any chick coming from the mating to grow any faster than them.. BJG dont put on true weight untill 2 years old.. they are not the best meat worthy birdsI am currently incubating eggs from White Rock hens crossed with a large Black Jersey Giant roo. Thanks! I can't wait until they hatch. The White Rocks I have are larger than any other chicks their age. I did know that the BJG don't grow very fast, but I hope to caponize the Jersey-Rock cockerels. That should help with weight gain a little.I believe white rocks are based on recessive white, when mated to an Extended black bird like the BJG you should expect to hatch all black chicks, and mostly black adult birds with some color leakage, I dont think the WR breed is the fastest growere out there so dont expect any chick coming from the mating to grow any faster than them..
