I have a Buff Brahma, who's name is Jo (from the book Little Women). She is acting lethargic and won't eat. I've already checked for sour and impacted crop. Nothing. I am currently treating my flock for mites, not any medication, just DE and baths, (YAY *sarcasm implied*). I have no clue what to do with her. Three days ago she was fine. I picked her up today and she has lost some weight. What do I do? I'm going to give her a bath to see if that makes her feel better and then I'm considering making her some scrambled eggs. So I ask again, what do I feed a chicken who won't eat?

    TIA,
    SBFChickenGirl

Update: I'm drying her off with a blow dryer. She isn't looking good, her breathing is shallow, I'm afraid that I'm going to lose her. If anyone knows what I should do, I'm running out of ideas. Even if you can't help, but you know someone who can, please tag them.

How old is she? Do you know when she last laid? You say you are treating for lice/mites, does she/the flock have them, or you are just trying to be proactive? What do her droppings look like? Does her abdomen, below vent and between legs, feel bloated, hard or waterballoon like? Has she ever been wormed?
If you have some poultry nutri drench give her some of that. You can try some scrambled or chopped up cooked egg, a bit of canned tuna, making a mash with her feed by mixing with some water, see if any of them tempt her.
If you DO have lice/mites then DE isn't going to get rid of them, you will need to use a product containing permethrin to treat the birds and the coop in order to get rid of them.

She is a year or a year and a half. No, I have no clue. She and the flock have them. Her droppings are greenish and liquidy. I can feel some of her bones and to me it does feel a bit water balloonish. No, she has never been wormed. I don't have poultry nutridrench, but I do have electrolytes that I can put in water. I will try making her eggs and water right now.

How old is she, it could be a reproductive issue. Chickens whos egg laying years are over will starve themselves. I think I would consider having her put out of her misery. Reproductive issues cannot be fixed.

@coach723 She isn't really interested. The only thing I can get her to eat is some water, by putting it on her beak.

Just wanted to add some support! Scrambled eggs are always a big hit around here.

Yogurt with a bit of honey works well in a syringe as does pureed cat food, fine scrambled egg and anything else you can get into a runny paste.
The green poop does not sound good. If she's parasite free, not egg bound, no crop problems then it's possibly a reproductive issue and there isn't much you can do apart from keep her comfortable and make her end quick and painless.

I've gotten her to eat a little bit of scrambled eggs and some water. Thanks @trumpeting_angel for your support.
