I have a small natural pond on my soon to be duck area( they are in the house at the moment) it has a dirt bottom and I understand would like to cover with some kind of stones. Would gravel work? some bits are quite pointy though. If not any other suggestions are welcome

Pea gravel, sand, river stones, pretty much anything that you would walk on. Also if it is deep enough in the center that they can't touch I wouldn't be as concerned about it being shap as they won't be walking on in but swimming over it.

I walk over the gravel I have but I have very hard feet! Lol other people don't. Won't sand just get kicked up?

If its a natural pond with a dirt bottom no need to have a liner ducks them selves can maintain a pond and sometimes create them even one of my small creeks has become a pond due to the ducks even though they have a large natural pond.

Thanks. I realised they didn't need a stone Bolton but I thought it would help with keeping the water clearer?

Won't it stop them churning up the bottom?

They are going to end up stirring up duck muck that's gonna collect on top of stones. So either way dirty water
